Like a Less Interesting Version of Werewolf

The game is not bad, but people got bored rather quickly. Most found it rather difficult to give clues that avoided either extreme- too vague or way too specific. I think this was a concept, not a player, problem. Also, the chameleon- if he or she is even vaguely paying attention- should be able to deduce the secret word easily. So, I guess there are parts that are too difficult and other parts that are beyond simple. This dynamic did not produce an enjoyable experience.

Fun family game with teenagers! (Or older kids)

Awesome family game. Fun for teens. We have a couple older teens and a couple younger teens. I'd disagree with their age suggestion of 14+. Older kids could easily play this. But it really does make them think, relate, and strategize. When it came to sports people, we didn't have a clue who some were, it didn't matter what our age. Haha. But the kids were smart enough to say things like "forest" for Tiger Woods. And some cards we just skipped. Not a big deal.I love games that are quick enough to play a round if we're short on time or play a few rounds if we have extra time. One of my favorite family games is Code Names. For Chameleon, you don't work in teams, but it's a little like C.N. in that you're taking a word and coming up with another word as a clue. Except the person that's the chameleon has no idea what the word is that everyone is describing and has to fake knowing. We all have diverse personalities, but have really enjoyed playing this together! (Not a lot of game pieces, which is nice. We can all sit back on our couches and play, relax, and laugh. Most games require we're at the kitchen table.)As I'm typing, our one son just added, "Everyone in our family enjoys it, and that's not an easy task."

      Our Family LOVES This Game!

This is one of the funnest family games we have played ! We have a very large family and like to play games together but nobody has patience for board games. Interactive games that get us talking, laughing and having fun together are what we love! This game is perfect for us. We played with all ages from 8 to 60. Everyone loves it! Easy to play and no two rounds are ever the same so nobody gets bored.

      Surprisingly Simple and Fun.

We got this for my child's birthday (age 13). Reading the description, I was skeptical. And reading the instructions once we got it, I was still a little skeptical. But it turned out to be surprisingly fun.The premise is simple: All players, except for the "Chameleon", know the secret word chosen from a visible possible words list. Those in the know try to suggest clues by word association - something vague enough so as not to give it away to the Chameleon without getting so vague as to be suspected as the Chameleon. The Chameleon tries to figure out the secret word from these clues and offers their own without sounding off-base. After each round, everyone votes who they think is the Chameleon. If properly identified, the Chameleon has one chance to come out with a few points: Identify the secret word.In practice, the secret word cards follow a similar theme, making it more possible for the Chameleon to blend in. Sometimes, the Chameleon ends up going early in the rotation, and some really funny clues get proffered. Other times, rounds can be quite hard. So there is a lot of variety, and people sometimes suggest comical clues. Rounds can be quite quick, and they can be quite rewarding. You can even create your own topic cards wth a supplied wipe-board and dry-erase pen.All-in-all, I would recommend the game. It's great for a mix of teenagers and adults.

A great party game with words

I played this game at a party over the weekend and loved it some much, I bought it here. The game requires thinking and strategy, but is ultimately really fun to find out who the Chameleon is. We played with age 12 to 50+. Great game.
