  How can you not love a pan that holds oil

  How can you not love a pan that holds oil? It also holds tears and your hopes of being a rugged manly dude, when you realize changing your oil seems simple to everyone but yourself. I mean, come on, how hard is it now to not spill oil when putting it in? Apparently, really frickin' hard. I've got steady hands from being a photographer, but I don't have brain surgeon style shakeless hands. At least the pan is big enough to just pull the bottom plug and not miss. Just buy it if you need a good pan. You won't have any regrets.

  Finally found a pan that doesn't fail at pouring oil!

  I can't remember the last time I did an oil change without spilling a single drop of used motor oil when transferring it back into a container for disposal. There are hundreds of oil drain pans on the market, but it seems like every single designer is unaware that users have to pour oil out of the drain pan into another container. I've used flimsy drain pans that can't even keep their shape when full of oil, pans with spouts that seem like a cruel joke, and catchbasin type pans that appear to be designed specifically to deflect your stream of used oil everywhere but into the basin. Even otherwise well-designed pans have a hard time avoiding some drips when transferring oil.This pan is not like any of those other pans. This is a very large oil pan, so even if you are changing a vehicle with a large oil capacity, it won't be full to the brim. There is a large molded lip (with handles!) on the top edge that keeps oil in while pouring and directs it to the molded-in spout. This spout is connected to the interior of the pan, so there is no opportunity for drips to sneak over the edges of the spout while pouring.This pan is thick and fairly rigid, so it won't buckle with oil in it.I am extremely satisfied with this oil pan. The only time I don't use it for changing any of my vehicles or small engine yard equipment is on my smaller engines where this pan is too big to fit near the oil drain location.The only drawback is the fairly complex shapes on the interior of the pan (including the interior of the molded lip and spout) that make it difficult to wipe clean when I'm finished with an oil change, but that is a small price to pay for an actual high quality oil pan with a spout that doesn't drip oil all over the place.

  Part of my mess free setup

  This drain pan is solid and easy to use as others have said, but you also need a good container for collection and transfer. I bought a Baytec 5 gallon steel bucket and installed Banjo fittings and caps in the two threaded holes. The drain pan spout fits directly into the large hole.   this is by far the most sturdy pan I've used

  What's really to say about this? Basically a plastic bucket with the spout. I've used many different kinds of oil catch pans with lids caps etc. That being said, this is by far the most sturdy pan I've used. Also the easiest to pour the oil into another container from. I order the 5 quart containers of oil on Amazon and the spout on this pan is very easy to stick inside those and put my used oil back in that container for recycling. You do need to stuff a rag in the spot when you're done, or else you will do it drips from it

  So simple, it's the perfect design

  I've had lots of different oil pans. This one is the best. Don't bother with the ones where you screw the cap back on so you can return the oil to the store. That small little hole doesn't capture the oil as fast as it pours out of your car - oil gets all over the container and now your supposed to put it in your car? This one captures every drop of oil coming out of your car and has a little spout that allows you to put it right back in the oil container you used to fill you car from. Easily captures the 9 quarts of oil from my car. And no need to wipe the drain pan clean because that lip around the edge keeps that oil in the pan when you hang it up out of the way on the garage wall.
