  Adds ease & peace of mind

  Light is great, can see for over 1.25miles at night. Using without the knocker is better than with, it's pretty picky about proper adjustment. There is no o-ring included for bulb cover & it quickly fills with condensation. Im going to drill a weep hole and see if it helps.

  This light would be great for some installations but not for mine.

  I used this for a year. I wanted to like it because it’s big and bright and loud which is what I was looking for but it seems to draw a lot of power and effects the ability of the charger to clear weeds OR the reliability of the light. Basically if I adjust the gap so the fence runs at like 9kv as soon as a few weeds hit the fence the light doesn’t work even though the fence voltage is perfectly fine. If I tighten the gap so the light is reliable it lowers the voltage to the point the fence gets loaded with weeds and the fence can’t clear them. I live in an area that’s pretty wet with heavy weeds. I think in a dryer climate it would be a good light to use. If I could I would wire it so the fence power runs through the light which would make it not suck so much power but the location I need it at unfortunately doesn’t permit that. They say the light is dimmer if you have no load on the fence wired this way but with heavy weeds it would probably be ok. Anyway. Pluses and minuses. I think I’d prefer this housing with an led type that isn’t powered by the fence. I have a light like that and it has lasted 3 years with a battery change once a year of course the negative of those is they are directional since they are lower power.

  Good visual for your electric fence being on

  It’s definitely bright and the knock box definitely makes noise, it’s draw back is it draws down the fence a lot I have on a 8 joule fencer and the baby pigs hit wire and barely made any noise when shocked so tested fence and it was definitely dropped down, thought I had a separate short somewhere checked the pen and nothing was wrong took light off and it was back to full strength and hitting hard.

  Voltage draw down seems obvious

  So what I like: the light is bright and the clicker is obvious. It should help if I have someone helping with the chickens and if they have any questions whether the fence is activated.What is a real bummer: I adjusted the gap and it pops nicely, and the light blinks brightly, but the voltage testing tool went from full scale 7kv measurement to half that amount. So that will obviously not help with predators so much if the electric fence is only operating at half "zap" capacity.If someone has a suggestion how to avoid this major drawdown of voltage, I'd love to hear.
