Alaskan kids here: Great boots! +Durability +Warmth +Ease of donning/doffing

Our go-to boots here in Alaska. I usually get two years of wear out of these boots for my 10 and 11 boys. We've owned 6+ pairs of bogs and I find their limitations to be: the soles wear and get slick and they have a wear point on the heels (to be fair, we just step on the back and slide our foot out and don't actually reach down with hands and pull them off). They can be snug on the calves and yanking off with the hands has resulted in flying boots and a resultant fight between siblings. Frequently the insoles wore out quickly. Sizing is just about right. I always size up a 1/2 to 1 size. They'll loosen up a bit but not much. The pattern doesn't last - the toes and sides will wear off. They do stay mostly warm down to -30; much like any boot it depends on the socks. I gotten cold feet in these boots when I've worked outside for more than 15 minutes at temps less than -10 but that was just with regular athletic socks. Alaskans tend to be pretty skeptical of warmth ratings but these really are pretty good boots for our winters. I remain with the brand since I enjoy their durability, warmth, and ease of use.One kid whines that they can be hard to put on/take off as the calves can be snug - and we're skinny legged folks so I'd imagine a heavier kid might have trouble with these.
Great Boot! Feet stay dry and warm!

I got these for my 8 year old daughter last winter. We live in Michigan so we get our fair share of snow, ice, and cold weather. These boots are not cheap by any means, but they are worth every penny. Not only are they warm, but with the grip handles, they are easy and quick for her to put on. This is especially important as her school has the kids change from boot to shoes and vice versa at arrival, recess, and dismissal. We found the fit to be spot on, and my daughter loved the styling of the boot. She never complained that her feet were cold and her socks stayed dry, even when playing in snow drifts. When she grows out of these, I will look for another BOGS boot as a replacement...dry and warm feet are well worth the money
Quality boots, just not the cutest

I bought these to wear around the property cleaning after animals/horses. I bought a cheaper pair of rubber boots and they lasted less than two months. I wanted a good pair but didn't want to spend over $100. Luckily my feet are small enough to fit in a kids size. I wish these boots were taller, but I recognize that they are made for kids so they are shorter. The toe area is fairly wide and bulky which isn't my favorite, but for how sturdy and high quality these are I can live with it. They are very comfortable and easy to get on and off. I wouldn't say they are lightweight, but they aren't too terribly heavy that they make walking burdensome. These boots are also very warm so they do live up to their claims as snow boots. I plan on using them year round to muck stalls. we have hot summers so I just hope they don't stay too warm.Overall I'm happy that I found a good quality boot for cheaper than the adult sizes- so if you're a woman who wears a size 8 or smaller this allows you more buying options!
👍 for Bogs !

Second pair for my daughter. Warm. Easy on and off. Durable- her first pair lasted her 2 winters and they still look new. She loves the design. It’s obvious they’re not cheap; however, for this type of quality, warmth, and comfort .... they are worth it. We live in far Northern NY (if location helps you better determine the warmth of the boot). We freeze our butts off up here and NEVER (not one time) has my daughter complained of cold or sore feet.

Best rain boots I have purchased for my kids. In the past, I have purchased Crocs rain boots (very lightweight, lots of color options, not insulated) and Hunter rain boots (excellent soles/grips, well made, high quality, great colors, not insulated). However, these Bogs were insulated, excellent soles/grips, sturdy and fabulous. I feel very comfortable knowing that my children will be warm and safe during rainy day play. FYI, the product runs small. My 4yo recently wears size 10 and I purchased a size 11.
Bogs are the BOMB

THESE BOOTS ARE AMAZING. I have one of those kids who hates walking, hiking, mud, dirt, water, cold, etc. After 10 weeks of classes in the wilderness, during which time he had some really cruddy Payless boots, I decided to stop being a punk and pony up some cash for real shoes. He wore then once and could not stop raving about how awesome they were. His feet were comfortable, warm, dry, and he hiked for hours in them happily. Can not say enough amazing things about these boots! YAY BOGS!
Best boots for outdoor preschool

5.0 out of 5.0 by Kimbertoes on March 24, 2019
We love Bogs! My son attends an outdoor preschool in Western Washington and he never once has complained of cold feet. Even if he submerges his entire boots in the water and his feet get wet, they don't get chilled with the warmth of the neoprene. He can even climb trees in these things (which is hard to do in boots) because of the great flexible tops. Sometimes the water does seem to go through the neoprene when he's going for long, deep creek walks but I still will purchase these over stiff boots any day for that flexibility. They also double as great snow boots and stay nice and warm. We use the Playshoes fleece lined waterproof bib style pants over the top of them and a rain jacket with warm layers underneath and he can spend hours out there in the cold.
Soaking wet feet :(

We live in Ohio...constant mix of snow and rain. We were going to hold off until Christmas for these, but the need for solid boots trumped that. All three kids got a pair and used them on a 60 degree December day. Unfortunately, we are literally ONE DAY past the return window. All three kids have soaking wet feet. The insides of all boots are wet. So disappointed. Hoping Amazon will make things right and allow for a refund. These are not cheap and was expecting so much more from Bog boots.
